    SOMEDAY SOON

Columbus St. Francis De Sales linebacker Brian Asamoah was on campus for the second time in as many months for Ohio State's Junior Day on Saturday.

“The visit was great,” Asamoah told Eleven Warriors. “I had an amazing experience.”

The 6-foot, 205-pound Asamoah holds 11 offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh and UCLA, but said his relationship with Ohio State only continues to grow.

“This gave me more of an opportunity to connect with the coaching staff and really learn a lot about the program,” Asamoah said. “I was able to have one-on-one with coach [Urban] Meyer and coach [Bill] Davis. During my one-on-one with coach Meyer, he said they're very interested in me and he loves my style of play. He wants me to come down in the spring. Coach Davis and I really got to know one another and got to further our relationship.”

An offer would have been the cherry on top, of course, but Asamoah understands its still early in the process.

“Patience is a virtue,” he said.

    DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

Though he doesn't yet have an offer from Ohio State, I expect Columbus St. Francis De Sales three-star linebacker Brian Asamoah to include the Buckeyes on his list of top schools this Friday.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Asamoah is considered the 44th-best outside linebacker and No. 578 prospect overall in the Class of 2018. He holds 15 offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Michigan, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA and West Virginia, and his relationship with Ohio State has grown significantly in the last few months.

He most recently on campus for Junior Day, after which he said he learned a lot about the program.

“I was able to have one-on-one with coach [Urban] Meyer and coach [Bill] Davis.” Asamoah told Eleven Warriors. “During my one-on-one with coach Meyer, he said they're very interested in me and he loves my style of play. He wants me to come down in the spring. Coach Davis and I really got to know one another and got to further our relationship.”

Asamoah hopes the Buckeyes eventually offer and is no hurry to make a decision on his future.

“Patience is a virtue,” he said.

    HOLDING OUT HOPE

St. Francis De Sales three-star linebacker Brian Asamoah was ready to choose between Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA and West Virginia on April 21. But on Tuesday night, he announced he would no longer make his decision that day.

“[I'm] waiting on Ohio State,” Asamoah told Eleven Warriors. “Communication has picked up tremendously.”

The 6-foot, 205-pound Asamoah is considered the 45th-best outside linebacker and No. 623 prospect overall in the Class of 2018. He's picked up offers from Arizona State, Michigan State and Oklahoma in the week alone, bringing him to 23 in all.

Asamoah formed a great relationship with former Ohio State defensive coordinator and current Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell — a De Sales graduate — which is why the Bearcats are presumed to be the leader in his recruitment. But new linebackers coach Bill Davis has picked up right where Fickell left off.

“We are building a strong relationship,” Asamoah said.

Asamoah attended Junior Day in late January and plans to return to campus for the Spring Game next month. He's preached patience throughout the process, but don't be surprised if he finally walks away with an extremely coveted offer in hand.
