Not going to lie I am a little nervous about him signing somewhere else. I personally think he's better than Martell right now but Jones may want to go somewhere else where he would play a lot sooner.

Agree...on film he is better than Martell. Time will tell; Best man wins and plays.

I do not think Martell will play a snap at Ohio State..............to small IMO.

Jones is the real deal, we will need to hold onto him.........

Haskins and Burrows have a ton of talent..........

“I already knew [about Beck]. I'm all cool with it,” five-star junior quarterback Emory Jones told Eleven Warriors. “I just have to talk with the new coaches and see how I feel, and just see how the offense does next season.

He will take visits and we will need to keep recruiting him................when JT explodes for 4,000 yards of offense next year...........that will help.

    Some talk about Emory Jones

We’ll end tonight’s notebook with a little discussion about a player who is not here in San Antonio: 2018 5-star quarterback Emory Jones, who committed to Ohio State in July. On Tuesday, Jones reacted to a change at quarterback coach in Columbus, as Tim Beck will head to Texas.

“I already knew,” Jones said. “I’m all cool with it. I just have to talk with the new coaches and see how I feel, and just see how the offense does next season.”

That is the right answer, the polished answer, but I was told by two separate sources – one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday – that Jones has still been considering other schools even before the Beck news broke.

“Jones has been looking around,” one source, based in Georgia, shared. “He’s interested in schools like LSU, Florida, and was still looking at Clemson, but that’s not going to happen because of Trevor Lawrence committing there.”

So, curious, I asked another person who would know about this and his response was interesting.

“I knew other schools were coming after him,” the second source said. “There’s a chance he’s getting worried because of all the hype around Dwayne Haskins.”

Jones is the top-rated dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class and a player who is not likely to be “scared” of competition, but the return of J.T. Barrett to Ohio State does change the dynamics in the Buckeyes quarterback room just a bit. Barrett is the likely starter in 2017, and that means that Joe Burrow, Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell would all be competing with Jones for a spot in 2018. Burrow would be redshirt junior, Haskins a redshirt sophomore and Martell – likely – a redshirt freshman. It’s a crowded room but Jones knew all that before he committed.

The Franklin (Ga.) prospect said on Tuesday he was 100 percent committed to the Buckeyes still and I believe him, but in this type of recruitment, you should expect some dramatics. That may have already begun.

I'm not worried about that. I'm more worried about other schools using Haskins and Martell being on the depth chart against us.

Martell is never going to start a game here...........

The kid is a winner but to damn short IMO..........

    Haskins has NFL potential.

You don't think he'll grow up any? And Im not talking about his twitter account, which I think they should take away from him. Most kids grow a couple of inches in their college years. He's 5 10-11. Brees is 6', Wilson 5'11 in the NFL isn't he? They seem to be making a pretty good living. Hearing that Martell is consistantley the best QB out here. I be it being practice drills only. We'll see come Saturday. Too many Rosters in the hen house.

    Martell is not 5'11. He's MAYBE 5'9.

I just do not think he will get a start at Ohio State.........

5/9 and 170 is small for a quarterback at Ohio State............

The kid is a winner. Not taking anything away from him. Just do not see it. I hope he proves me wrong.

I also went to Friday Night Lights and when I was on the sideline area where fans were allowed to stand Tate walked by me and he was my height. I'm only 5'9.

Then someone is lying. Lol. Trevon 6'4", Tyjon 5'9, Tate?
