    FOUR-STAR CORNERBACK CHECKING OUT BUCKEYES

Another highly-ranked 2018 prospect is on campus Thursday with Ohio State.

Cornerback Christian Tutt, the country's 33rd-ranked player is in Columbus checking out the Buckeyes. He was at Michigan and Michigan State on Tuesday, where he added his 31st offer, and Notre Dame Wednesday.

Tutt hails from Thomson, Georgia, but transferred in January to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. However, Tutt is back at Thomson and will, presumably, finish his high school where it began.

It's always interesting to track the careers of a player who has transferred, and certainly the back-and-forth act in the last three months will open some eyes. Whatever reasons emerge for the school-swapping, Tutt's talent is undeniable and any prospect who makes a spring trip to the Midwest from SEC country is worth paying attention to.

Ohio State offered Tutt in November and this visit will help the two sides see if they're a possible fit.

4-star DB Christian Tutt puts Ohio State at the top
For some time now the Buckeyes have been at the top of the list for Thomson (Ga.) 4-star defensive back Christian Tutt. The country’s 18th-ranked cornerback says that is still the case.

“I talk to to Ohio State every day,” Tutt told Land of 10. “I talk to Urban Meyer, Greg Schiano and Kerry Coombs, too. There’s mail from them every day.”

What’s the point of that daily correspondence? Just to let the 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back know how the Ohio State staff views him.

“They just tell me that they love the way I play,” he said. “That they can help me get to the next level and that I can be a star there. They’re still high on my list right now.”

Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State and 30 other schools have offered Tutt. Ohio State remains one of the only legitimate contenders to pull him away from the SEC and the lure of college football in the South. According to Tutt, Urban Meyer has built a program that rivals any school in the country.

“Ohio State is one of the big boys in the NFL draft,” Tutt said. “Ohio State is the biggest threat to the SEC to get those types of players (from the South). With coach Coombs and Urban Meyer, that tradition. It’s all about his program and how he looks out for his past players.”

From Steve Wiltfong: "Christian Tutt: Still deciding in May. Says Alabama, FSU and Ohio State are top three despite showing up in Georgia gear and saying the Dawgs are still in the picture."

CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT HE'S GOING THROUGH

Thomson, Georgia, four-star cornerback Christian Tutt was supposed to make his college decision on May 30 to honor his late brother, Chris, who died in a single-car accident last June. But he told SEC Country on Monday he'll push it back because the day — which would have been Chris' 21st birthday — will already be hard enough for his family.

“I'm just not ready yet,” Tutt said.

The 5-foot-11, 193-pound Tutt is considered the 20th-best cornerback and No. 174 prospect overall in the Class of 2018. He recently narrowed his nearly three dozen offers to Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Nebraska, Ohio State and Texas.

Though the Crimson Tide or Seminoles would have most likely been the choice had he made his decision next week, the Buckeyes have ramped up their pursuit of Tutt considerably in recent weeks. Defensive coordinator Greg Schiano and defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs stopped by Thomson earlier this month to watch Tutt practice, and invited him to campus for an unofficial visit in June.

Ohio State's chances to land Tutt jump significantly if he does make it to Columbus next month. Though with no new timetable for a decision, we'll have take a wait-and-see approach with his recruitment for the time being.
