Ahhh that makes a bit more sense. Still seems like a bad decision, but at least he's familiar with the school and fanbase. I lived in LA for 4 years. Awful sports town.

    Committed to FSU

Not sure what the staff did to this kid, but it seemed to be personal... He retweeted Parsons, Carman, and Cook's commitments (three guys who chose other schools over TOSU) today.

He also just committed to a school with no defensive staff in place after receiving an offer just 8 days ago.

I know he wanted to be there, but something tells me this kid's relationship with it staff soured somewhere in his recruitment. Rumors going sound that Greg Schiano leaving was his turning point.

Also seen rumors that Taggert was contacting him right before he left Oregon. Sounds like there may be soomethung fishy. Tagged recruiting for FSU while still at Oregon

Whatever. If this kid is leaving a situation likely the one Urban has in Columbus for a complete unknown (new staff, no defensive coaches, etc) like FSU, then my only reaction is to question our side.

Either way, we'll recover. This class is sick.

I'm honestly not questioning our staff on this one at all. Jaiden is a prima donna. Last night, he kept pushing back his announcement tying to get more viewers. He and a bunch of his buddies we live streaming it and it went on for about two hours. I watched it for about two minutes and got so frustrated that I honestly said to myself, please go somewhere else because you're embarrassing. He and his buddies were passing around the phone they were live streaming from and laughing at the back and forth fro the different fan bases.

On a side note, I hope people from here don't @ any of these kids...If you do, please don't!

Exactly. Do you want to play football and succeed, or do you want to clown around for attention?

The staff didn't even send him a LOI to sign yesterday. That says it all right there.

I don't know where the breakdown was, but you could tell that this one was personal and Woodbey was hurt by the staff.

Kid has all the talent in the world. Hopefully he puts it together and does well at FSU, but it seems like both parties are better off going separate ways.

Ohio State was already on the verge of losing four-star safety commit Jaiden Woodbey to USC when he made an offhand comment on Twitter about how Florida State’s old staff never offered him a scholarship.

New head coach Willie Taggart caught wind of the tweet and offered by night’s end, and Woodbey was a Seminole eight days later.

“I always wanted the offer,” Woodbey told Rivals' Adam Gorney. “Whether I got it really early or really late, it was one of those things hopefully I get the offer so I could go visit. Visiting was everything I thought it would be. I grew up watching this team play and it’s kind of been my dream school. It exceeded my expectations when I got up there.”

It’s kind of crazy to think a team that doesn’t even have a defensive backs coach yet could enter the picture so late and succeed. But it was the perfect storm, as Woodbey admitted he had already planned to flip to USC when Florida State came calling.

That means Ohio State finished third for one of its longest-tenured commits.

“I believed in what coach Taggart was telling me,” Woodbey added. “This is a Power 5 program [and] they had a wobbly season last season, but once they realign things, they’ll be at the top. He was basically telling me when I go there, I’m going to have a great opportunity to play just like every other school was telling me. For some reason, I believe him more than anybody else.”

Woodbey is another who was long committed to the Buckeyes, but flipped late. He signed with Florida State and started all 12 games as a true freshman making 58 tackles. However, after making 19 tackles in the first four games this season Woodbey sustained a leg injury and is out for the season.
