Ohio State went down to Wichita Falls (TX) Rider to land QB J.T. Barrett in their Recruiting Class of 2013, and it looks like the program will try to pry another talented prospect from the school in 2016 WR T.J. Vasher.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Vasher caught 67 passes for 993 yards with 12 touchdowns this past year. He received his fourth and fifth offers on Sunday from Houston and Ohio State respectively, and spoke with 247Sports about the latter, which is his biggest to date.

"Coach Beck offered me," Vasher stated. "He told me I had an offer to play there and that the staff loved me. I like their program and what they do. They are a team that has bigger goals than just winning their conference."

The Buckeyes and Cougars joined Colorado, SMU, and Texas Tech on Vasher's offer list, one that is expected to grow in the coming months. If Ohio State wants to reel in the Lone Star standout, they are going to have to get him on campus for a visit sometime soon.

"Maybe," Vasher said when asked if he would visit Ohio State this Spring. "I would love to, but it just will be hard to get up there."

While finding the time and paying his own way for an unofficial visit to Columbus won't be easy, the idea of having a familiar face at OSU if he chose to go there is what will keep the Buckeyes in the mix for the big wide receiver.

"I haven't really given it much thought [as I just got the offer]," Vasher said about having J.T. Barrett in Columbus already. "But it's always good to know someone who goes to a school that
    s recruiting you."

Right now it's early in the process for Vasher, who says he doesn't have any favorites out of his scholarships and those who haven't offered him yet. He's not planning on making a college decision until some time during his senior year, but knows what he'll be looking for in the school of his choice.

"The environment of the town/campus is one thing," he told 247Sports. "Also the academics. Those will always be a big factor."

Vasher is rated as a 4-star prospect, the No. 265 overall player, the No. 52 wide receiver, and the No. 35 player in Texas per the 247Composite.
