So with him not enrolling until 2016, will he count against this class? Or the 2016? We might end up with a 25 year old player...

He'll be listed as a '14 commit, but won't count against the schollie numbers until '16....

Payton Dastrup, a four-star recruit out of Arizona, committed to Ohio State last week. Since the commitment, Dastrup had a change of heart and will instead sign with BYU.

Payton Dastrup had a change of heart.
Last week the four-star big man out of Mesa (Ariz.) Mountain View committed to Thad Matta and Ohio State. Shortly after his pledge, Dastrup changed his mind. He now plans to play his college basketball for the school he grew up following -- BYU.

“I just felt more comfortable with BYU,” Dastrup told Scout.com. “After I did commit, two days following I wasn’t miserable, but there was something missing. That’s why I changed.”

“I grew up following BYU sports as a young kid,” the 6-foot-10, 230-pound big man added.” I wanted to play football, but when football fell through I had hopes and aspirations of playing basketball there.”

To go with the interest from BYU and Ohio State, Dastrup also considered Florida and Virginia.

“I just really wanted to see all my options,” Dastrup said. “That’s why I narrowed it to the four that I did. I did commit to Ohio State, but it felt like I wasn’t true to myself.

“I felt confident with Ohio State,” he added. “They are a great program and their staff is awesome and they will do great things, but for me personally I just felt like with my past and for me to be successful BYU is the place for me.

BYU now has two four-star prospects in their 2014 recruiting class. Dastrup joins the No. 14 point guard in the class T.J. Haws, as well as Jake Toolson, Dalton Nixon and Ryan Andrus to make up their current recruiting class.

Dastrup, who is signing with BYU today, is Scout.com’s No. 18 center and is regarded

Not a big loss IMO, he wouldn't see the court until 17 factoring in his 2 year mission trip. Seeing as he is a devote Mormon, I was shocked he didn't pick BYU first.
