About one QB's "poor" Pro Day ...

So Teddy Bridgewater had a bad Pro Day. I really don't care.

Yes, a quarterback should look good when he's throwing to familiar receivers on his home turf. But to draw any major significance from this is silly. JaMarcus Russell, Blaine Gabbert, Brady Quinn and Geno Smith are just some college quarterbacks who had great Pro Days.

It's sort of like grading a hitter on batting practice. Yes, you like to see the power and the ball fly over the wall. But the real test is when he's facing a pitcher who actually wants to get him out -- not make him look good with soft tosses.

Some quarterbacks who had so-so to bad Pro Days include Drew Brees, Cam Newton and Nick Foles.

As a senior at Louisville, Bridgewater completed 71 percent of his passes, 31 touchdowns compared to only four interceptions. He looked poised in the pocket, and his medium-range throws generally were accurate under game conditions. More than 50 percent of passes in NFL games are "medium range," meaning between 1-10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. That's why an accurate touch means so much.

Bridgewater supposedly had some problems because he decided to throw without using his gloves. Not sure who advised him on that, because Bridgewater always used gloves in games to help with his grip. He says he plans to use them from now on.

For what it's worth, Browns General Manager Ray Farmer was present. He also will have a private workout with Bridgewater. Farmer has said that game tape tells the real story, and I agree.

My only concern is his size: He's listed at 6-2, 214 pounds. He doesn't look that heavy. Can he stay healthy?

But otherwise, he's the one quarterback at the top of draft that intrigues me the most.

This is a great spot for Teddy, IMO. Having Peterson to lean on for a couple of years will take some pressure off of him.

You would still be in the same boat. Offensive coordinator changes, qb coach changes. The Browns have no stability on offense so it would still be piss poor.

I was thinking by drafing him none of those things would have happened based on how he played this year.........

He would have provided that stability.

Yeah you and I were the ones who knew Teddy's value...all the people who wanted Manziel instead of him have egg on their face.
