I don't think thats right, especially when something like this is definitely wrong and many other schools are proving it to you. How could you possibly call someone a fairweather fan when they are stating the obvious!

    It's pretty easy actually....

I know and agree we aren't the greatest team ever and our lineman aren't as fast as other teams, but all this doom and gloom, after going 10-2 or better for 4 straights seasons, by some of our "fans" is sad, pathetic, uncalled for and unacceptable as far as I see it....

We are going to lose to Texas and USC is what he said that bothered me most and that's what I was pissed about and replied about.....how the hell is that a fact?

    IT'S NOT!

After those games, if we lose them both, then it's a fact and he can bitch and moan but to come on here prematurely and say we're guaranteed to lose both is stupid...

He never said we were guaranteed to lose. He's suggesting (which I agree with -- because if you cannot get pressure on Colt McCoy he will rip you apart) that our chances of winning decrease because our line has played very poorly much of this season. If you cannot control the line (block on offense) or get consistent pressure on the QB you won't win.

Let me ask you this. Why did we beat Miami in 2002?

Yes, I know with tons of pressure from our "D" on Dorsey....

I think that our O-line has absolutely been suspect, but I don't agree that we won't get any pressure on McCoy defensively....

I think we can and will and that's why we can and might win!

LSU already better than us since 2001: two BCS championships since then.

BlockO, yes I was a bit provocative. As I guaranteed the loss against USC this year, I documented that I would HAPPILY eat several servings of crow if we won. No, I am not a fair-weather fan, but I fear the coordinators and some of the linemen on our favorite team are fair-weather producers. No one except Iowa has shown the ability to maintain any level of intensity, consistentcy, or heart this entire bowl season. What really gives me concern is that nothing about OSU has REALLY changed in the last three years. When they get down against a team of equal talent they show NO fight whatsoever. There was an article on SI.com recently about it stating that PSU showed no emotion before, during, or after the game against USC.

The only time OSU shows any emotion is when Boone is being called for a personal foul after we convert a critical third down, or when Spitler is putting late hits on a punter or kicker costing us possession.

BlockO, I know you are frustrated with the same issues. I just don't see the point of loggin on here and just singing kume-ba-ya about how great a season it has been. Yes, it has been a good season, but this team should aiming for a BCS title game EVERY single year, because they have the talent (except at the lines). I see that trend beginning to turn a bit. So, yes I am hopeful for the near future while Pryor is on board.

Oh and Arapahoe, thanks for the defense, even though, I probably didn't deserve it.

I still dont think we have the same amount of talent as these other teams. Its a totally different game in the Big 10 and the SEC and the Pac 10 for that matter. The Big 10 is and always will be a run first conferene. We've seen how USC is some hoe able to torch the PSU secondary tht we didnt let Terrelle try to beat enough. Next year I believe we beat USC because of their loss of defenders and Im going to boldly predict a victory against the Longhorns for the buckeyes. Im just figuring the team is sick and damn tired of losing these big games and theses seniors are gonna come out and kick some a##. We need a fast start like Utah but also be able to sustain the lead unlike the last two nc's.

I suppose there is some credence to all of this pronosticating. We just might have a chance against USC next year because of their defensive losses. But we also lose lots of senior starters on both sides of the ball.

You all know very well that skepticism reigns when it comes to this team "getting tired of being woodsheded." So far, it's been all talk and NO action.

I dont know why you guys are so worried about next season? Its only Jan alot can happen, how we stand now it looks like next season is gonna be a little rough but nothing JT cant handle. In a way im actuall happy that our Seniors are leaving there has been drama all season with them ever since TB lost his job to TP. TP will mature and show true leadership next season that is a given, our D IMO might be a little slow to start off the season( but Keep in Mind we dont even know who's starting yet) so this can go either way. Vandaliabuck you are not a fair weather fan, your a realistic fan, one that is not arrogant. True fans realize they do not have the best team ever, they realize that there will be loses and always room for improvement yet the stick through year in and year out. So wait on your predictions till spring camp is over and wait till all our recruits come in and see how JT conditions them until then its a little premature to say its a gurenteed loss or win

Did Ohio State regain any respect in the Fiesta Bowl?

Ohio State has a rich, storied football history and tradition, but recently, you almost wouldn't know it.

While the Buckeyes have won no less than 10 games in each of the last four seasons (43-8 overall) and just played in their fourth straight BCS Bowl game,...........

I think we gained tremandous respect with the TX game. Ive talked to alot of friends and family(some of which are TX fans) and they even admitted we had won that game despite the final score. tOSU does have a rich tradition and lately people are expecting that of us, they see tOSU as the best of the best and hold us to higher expectations and the truth is sometimes it hurts us. Look what we did to TX the team that wines and moans that they should have been in the title game. The truth is we showed up this season and we proved it, with all the drama that has been going on this season with the bucks we still went out there and played our a@ses off, so let the critics say what they want, Mark May have ur time and make a fool out of yourself tOSU will be back next year faster, bigger and better.
