As reported by @AWardSports and @PeteThamel, former Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads – who has also been the defensive coordinator at Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn and Pittsburgh – is joining Ohio State's staff as a defensive analyst: https://t.co/2DJ77sA3Hd— Dan Hope (@Dan_Hope) February 10, 2021
As an analyst, Paul Rhoads won't coach players on the field but will assist the Ohio State coaching staff with scouting opponents, game planning, etc.
Which is exactly where I feel Coombs struggled. Coombs is a lights out recruiter and position coach. He just needs help with the game planning part, imo.
Agreed. Damn Jeff Hafley really fucked us by leaving after one year. I would imagine had he stayed one more year we would have Marcus Freeman as DC right now.
Timing in life is a funny thing.......... Now if we need to make a change at D coordinator after next season? I believe Freeman would listen..........
It would be interesting...if Freeman has a good year he will be getting calls to be a HC. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Fick take a bigger job and Freeman become Cinci’s HC.
Seems like Paul Rhoads will be staying at Ohio State as an analyst. He’s here at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, and Jim Knowles said Rhoads was in defensive staff meetings today.— Dan Hope (@Dan_Hope) January 31, 2022
