What is going on in Ohio? Dayton Dunbar vs Roger Bacon game stopped and called in 2nd QT. Officials stopped game after a Dunbar player pushed a referee and tried to or did head butted him. Officials are waiting on police to arrive to file a complaint from what I’m seeing.— Dave Berk (@Dave_Berk) September 1, 2019
Dayton public schools are a FUCKING wreck, pardon my French. I am very familiar with school system. I'll just list some of the issues over the last few years -fights in games -fights in crowds -cannot care for their facilities -AD tried to have a team purposely throw a game after another team played an ineligible player. He did so in Hope's of getting 2 teams into playoffs. He purposely knew about this and tried to hide it. -they gave that AD a raise -OHSAA put them on probation -Had a team play ineligible player in basketball tourney that required teams to have to wait during tournament for OHSAA to investigate -they changed eligable GPA to a 1.0 to play sports......A FUCKING 1.0 The district is a joke and its leaders dont help

What is going on with the fights during high school games? "Line judge Mike Kreemer was kicked and stomped during the episode and was transported by ambulance out of the stadium with apparent head and neck injuries."@BlackiePreps reports.https://t.co/LtUwA58JJc— Holly Zachariah (@hollyzachariah) October 19, 2019
I just got off the phone with Mike Kreemer, the injured referee from the Walnut Ridge-Marion-Franklin game. He his a lot of bruising, a sore knee and a bad headache but otherwise is OK. Let me reiterate that he was upended and trampled in the melee, not attacked.— Steve Blackledge (@BlackiePreps) October 19, 2019

OHIO’S HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PARTICIPATION DROPS NEARLY 30 PERCENT Associated Press college football writer Ralph D. Russo wrote a really interesting piece last week about the troubles facing Ohio prep football. According to data tracked by the National Federation of State High School Associations that’s referenced in Russo’s article, participation in Ohio high school football has dropped 28 percent over the last decade and the percentage of Ohio players competing at the Division I college football level has dropped from 5.9 percent in 2013 to 5.1 percent in 2018. That’s still ranked as the fifth-highest percentage in the country, but Louisiana and Alabama are starting to gain on the Buckeye State. Ryan Day, Olentangy High School head coach Mark Solis and Pickerington North head coach Nate Hillerich all had comments in the Russo piece. Day said in an Ohio State press conference in early October that the Buckeyes’ recruiting strategy is centered on creating a foundation locally. “It’s huge because in recruiting, our foundation is in Ohio, for sure, and the Midwest,” Day said. “Then we supplement it with national guys, but when you have so many talented guys in the state of Ohio that are right down the street, it’s big.”

OHSAA football playoffs will expand the number of qualifying teams in 2021 https://t.co/blvz2Fgwdy— Mike Dyer (@MikeDyer) May 20, 2020
As a former coach from a school that had had 2 playoff appearances ever...this is stupid. There was no reason to expand. 8 teams is fine...some of these regions are so bad that you have 4-6 or possible 3-7 teams making the playoffs. Top 8. If anything separate private and public. We had to play LaSalle, a catholic school that purposely stays d2 by controlling who they let in. Its bullshit.

Dont see it happening if players must be tested. Schools cannot keep up with those cost. Especially smaller schools

Interim OHSAA commish Bob Goldring says Ohio is "full-bore" focused on an Aug 1 start for fall sports. Professionally, he's fine with that. As a human being/husband/father, he has his concerns. Here's the story: https://t.co/5kwpSXI3bO— Adam Jardy (@AdamJardy) July 15, 2020
