This sucks and I feel bad for Braxton because I know he wants to be out on the field playing and not standing on the sidelines. I think we experience some growing pains with JT because you can never really replace a 3 year starter of Braxton's ability but I feel a little better knowing that he's been coached by our staff for about 2 years now and that he's been getting crucial practice time with the 1's all winter and spring.

Today I am concerned..... I really don't know what to expect right now from this team. If we don't have a capable QB then we go nowhere. Everything from this point (talk) about JT is unproven. All we have right now is a dynamic HS QB who is yet to prove anything at the college level. If we were to win 10+ games this year it's because JT stepped up and became a man at QB and led this his team thru some big adversity.

Do I think he can do it? Sure. But he needs to prove that he can.

Do I want Braxton back for 2015? You damn right I do. As far as I'm concerned he still has a lot to prove himself.

Let me just remind everyone that Utban win a title and dominated a damn good Ohio State team with Chris Leak at QB. Sure Leak was a senior but he was average at best.

Maybe Cardale can provide a short yardage threat like Tebow did for UF as a Freshman. But then again do you risk yor backup getting injured on a run play ?

A senior of average talent is far better than a Freshman freak of nature. Above all, a QB must make smart decisions and experience is a huge advantage.

Keep the faith boys! I still think we have a very good team this year. Also, with Miller coming back this team could be really deep and scary next year.

If Braxton were to return to full strength in 2015, we could be looking at the best Ohio State team of all time...

Let’s assume that guys like Taylor Decker and Noah Spence return for their senior seasons...HOLY $#!+

This is true... This season will basically act as a development and depth-building season for 2015 when Braxton gets back, and Braxton will have an extra year to study the playbook and understand the offense.

If JT balls out, Urban has been adamant about getting the best players on the field... Even if that means running a two-qb system, Urban has shown that he's willing to do so.

Warning: I'm about to go on a bit of a rant. So if you don't want to deal with my bullsh**, I'd suggest you guys just keep scrolling.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the news of Miller's injury sets in, there are two thoughts that I keep having.

#1: Miller is completely screwed because of Meyer's selfishness in the Orange Bowl (Kenny should have been put in).

#2: Miller is completely screwed because the NCAA's rules against athletes use of their own image.

I feel awful for Braxton. I can't help but think about the end of the Orange bowl when I was screaming at my TV to take him out of the game... This feels like the Shanahan decision to keep RGIII in the game where he blew out his knee... I love Urban for a lot of reasons, but this was a flat out mistake, and it might have ruined Braxton's career.

I also feel awful that Braxton is going to dramatically drop on the draft boards, and has to come back to risk further injury just to prove himself at the next level.

For those of you who aren't aware, Braxton has a child/family to care for. Nothing would be more upsetting to me than him giving 4 years to TOSU (along with millions of dollars worth of profit for the university/nike from his image alone) only to struggle to care for his family with a menial day job after graduation.

This is the problem with college sports, and I'm very sad that we might have to witness it first hand.

Miller should have made enough money during his career through sponsorships (when do you not see him in Nike ??) to comfortably provide for his family regardless of what happens at the next level.

I honestly just feel awful for Braxton, and I wish that the NCAA didn't take advantage of athletes like this. I realize that allowing commercial rights to athletes will not solve every athlete's problem, but kids like Braxton who start for an entire season and work their asses off should not have to worry about their financial futures being completely ruined every time they take a hit.

Drew Breese's torn labrum and rotator cuff damage required two surgeries. The injury happened in January of 2006, he led the league in yards the next season.

Mark Sanchez, Blaine Gabbert and James Franklin all have suffered and returned from torn labrums. I can't speak to the severity of those cases compared to Braxton's though.
