Very true, they did give up a bunch of points to a sucky Arkansas team, it wasn't a dog fight where they came from behind. Saban has Bama at machine level, if they do lose they never get pounded, or look like trash. He is just on another level.

Today, here is what Ohio State and Alabama did defensive. And IU would more than likely be favored against Arkansas.

    Indiana had 406 total yards
    Arkansas had 405 total yards

I agree, our defense needs help. But I don’t think Bama is unbeatable.

Agree to disagree. Urban's record is what it is, and he's shown that he is the only coach who can consistently register W's against Saban (2-2 in head to head matchups).

I will absolutely agree that Saban is a more consistent coach than Urban Meyer, but I will take Urban on his best day over Saban on his. I also think Urban on his worst day is better than almost every other coach in the nation.

I don't think Urban has "lost it." I think he is exactly who we expected... He is a fiery coach who demands a lot out of his players, but will always have to deal with high levels of turnover in staff and personnel because the NFL wants his players, and other colleges want his coaches.

He has an acute eye for talent, and we're seeing that with his choice to hire Ryan Day, Kevin Wilson, Greg Schiano, and Larry Johnson. He is also loyal to a fault, which is why we suffer through the hires of Tim Beck, Bill Davis, and Zach Smith.

We can only hope that he's improving in that regard, but that isn't him "losing a step," that is him being exactly who we thought he was. He's still easily the #2 coach in the nation (imo), which is why we're sitting here complaining about his team's performance in a 23 pt victory over a 4-1 opponent.

Saban is consistent. Urban at his best is probably better than anyone.. but Urban at his worst is definitely worse than Saban at his...

I don't think that is arguable. What is is who you'd rather have... Urban for me... but I do like & respect the hell out of what Saban has done/is doing. We're witnessing history.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The question is, would you rather have a dynasty, or the best players/teams?

Ohio State under Urban Meyer is similar to Miami in the 90's and USC in the 2000's. They dropped games here and there, but those rosters in hindsight look like pro-bowl selection lists and when the light came on, nobody was gonna stop those teams.

Alabama is more like Oklahoma and Nebraska in their best years. You might not know all of the players that came through those systems, but they hold all the records for wins and NC's.

I do not think I stated Urban has lost it but I was simply pointing out that Bama rarely struggles with teams like Indiana....

The gap between Saban and Urban is growing...………...period.

I was referencing Wes re: "urban has lost a step."

I also disagree that the gap is growing. I love this team, and I think that we'll get it locked in for the playoffs.

If we played Bama right now, we would be very heavy underdogs. Our defense would get killed. I love Urban but right now we are playing for national runner-ups unless this defense suddenly gets it together.

This team is in a very different place than Bama right now... We are more like Bama was last year. We have all the talent and potential in the world, but we are also very inexperienced in many ways (specifically on defense).

That being said, we will probably see them in the playoffs, and I like our chances.
