Decided to make a thread about all general things regarding the Reds, I figured maybe the other Reds threads would just get all packed up with stuff not relevant to the topic.

Record stands at 2-2 right now.

    Players to watch this year

Brandon Phillips (Looking to build on his excellent 30-30 season)

Jay Bruce (Rookie OF Prospect who will hopefully get some time to play in the Majors, assuming he does well in the minors again. #1 rated prospect in baseball)

Johnny Cueto (Lights out rookie pitcher, 10K's, 1H, 1ER, 0BB in his debut in 7 Innings of work.)

Edinson Volquez (Comparable to Johnny Cueto, young Dominican pitcher who will do wonders for this ball club)

Jeff Keppinger (Could potentially hit .300 all year if he keeps his starting spot)

Edwin Encarnacion (still very young, everyone seems to think this will be his breakout year. Excellent power and hitting skills with RISP)

Mods could you make this thread sticky please? You can make an Indians sticky thread too if you'd like.

I'm starting to like Keppinger. Plays hard and makes solid contact at the plate.

We had a pretty solid game today, Harang had a decent outing.

Corey Patterson had a solo HR to tie up the game at 3-3 in the 8th.

And then in the bottom of the 9th
Dunn Walked, Freel ran for Dunn.
Encarnacion Walked, Hopper came in and first pitch had an excellent bunt down the 3rd base line and advanced both of our runners.
Then Bako came in and had a single to short to win the game, wooo!

Looking good! Let's hope the bats stay hot tomorrow against Myers.

We have Volquez pitching as well, I'll definitely wake up for this one.

Yes. Plus MLB Extra Innings has been free on Time Warner. I don't know how long it's going to be free?

Yeah I don't have it in my room either, but it's still great to see the Reds on out here.

Who do you like better, George Grande and Chris Welsh or Thom Brennaman and Jeff Brantley?

I love George but can't stand Welsh. I like Brennaman and Brantley is alright.

Brennaman and Brantley for sure, but I have to deal with George and Welsh most of the time due to the delay from TV and Radio.

I wish Marty did more TV games, I love him the most.

Marty and Thom is the best combo, IMO.

It's so awesome and it makes me feel so good, I don't know how to explain.

You just hear Thom call Marty dad instead of Marty during the games and it's just so.. I dunno how to explain, it makes you feel good inside though.

Thom is definitely one of the best announcers on all of TV though for baseball, he was pretty good during the OSU/LSU National Championship game last year as well.

I must be one of the few people that can tolerate George Grande. He's a classy guy and seems to really love the Reds. Welsh gives me a headache.

If you want to hear the worst announcer ever, watch a Padres game on their channel. Mark Grant is their color analyst (like a Welsh) and he makes Welsh look like a genius. All the guy does is try to be funny and make stupid jokes.

I don't really mind any of them, but my three favorites are Brantley, Thom, and Marty.

Reds having a solid day today, Griffey hit his 594th homer.

Keppinger hit another home run, which is surprising because he NEVER hits for power and he's already got 2 home runs this year.

Young pitcher Edinson Volquez is having a great game so far, he's got 6 K's through 4 innings of work, our pitching staff is looking great this year. With the exception of Fogg.

We should have a replacement for Fogg mid-way into the season, Homer Bailey.

    Volquez was GREAT!

    5.1 IP, 95 pitches.

    8 K's, 2 BB, 5 hit, 1 er, 0 HR.

And a ROARING standing ovation, sent chills down my spine.

He has some nasty pitches! Ump wasn't giving him any close ones or else he would've had more K's.

    I like Keppinger more everyday.

We have such a talented team this year, it upsets me that some people still only see a season with less than 80 wins.

87 wins this season, that's my call. Lock it up!!

What do you guys think of big lefty Matt Maloney? He's nice guy and a heck of a pitcher.

I like maloney but think he could benefit from staying in the minors for this year. He looks like he might be pretty impressive though.
