As a michigan fan i must admit it wasnt a great played football game and virginia tech looked slightly better but a win is a win, and ill take an ugly bcs win over a captal one and gator bowl win anyday of the week. It doesnt matter who looked better because three years from now all people will remember that michigan won the game , not how shotty there defense looked. This win will do wonders for brady hoke when he recruits, especially in ohio. What brady hoke now has over urban meyer is a recent bcs bowl victory. Brady hoke turned michigan around with rich rods team, imagine michigan four years from now when hoke has all of his recruits to play his power football system. Call the game what you want, im enjoying this one

I didn't realize you were such a Michigan fan bro, you did a better job than goblue in your defense of them. Please don't start calling Ohio State 'ohio' ;). I don't know how anyone could watch that game or look at the box score and not simply put that loss on Beamers mismanagement. We just agree to disagree.

I agree, Michigan got lucky several times this game. VT had their chances to win this game just like Michigan had their chances to maintain their lead. But this game was very sloppy and had a lot of questionable calls.

I'm not trying to defend anyone, I just wanted the B1G to get a win in the BCS. If Wisky won then I would've been more than happy to cheer against Michigan. But again, our conference needed them to win or else we would've heard so much trash talk about our conference all off-season, during the regular season up to the bowls. I can't take it anymore.

Meyer is still going to own recruiting in Ohio... period. All of Hoke's success in taking talent out of Ohio occurred before Meyer was on the war path kicking everyone's @$$ at recruiting in the last 6 weeks. Take a reality pill buddy... Brady the Hutt will have a very hard time talking anyone away from tOSU after the country sees how much @$$ we kick next year... including yours... in The Shoe... by a LOT... ruining your shot at a B1G Championship and hopefully a BCS Bowl bid as well.

Block O... you forgot to remind our "friend", the fan of TSUN, that Meyer only doesn't have a "recent BCS Bowl win" b/c he didn't coach this season.

I'm sorry but that won't make a damn bit a difference. Urban has 2 national titles while playing in the SEC. Urban has already made a huge statement in recruiting in his short time as head coach and will put the fence around Ohio right back up that Tressel built.

i will say this about michigan's win last night. va tech sucked but i liked this matchup. here's the reasons why i liked this game. michigan walks out with a win and now is going to be a top 10 preseason pick. they will be picked to win the big 10 next year and i am sure will be a shoe in for a bcs game next year. let's take a look at next years schedule.

Sept. 1 vs. Alabama (Arlington, Texas)
    Sept. 8 Air Force
    Sept. 15 Massachusetts
    Sept. 22 at Notre Dame
    Sept. 29 Bye Week
    Oct. 6 at Purdue
    Oct. 13 Illinois (Homecoming)
    Oct. 20 Michigan State
    Oct. 27 at Nebraska
    Nov. 3 at Minnesota
    Nov. 10 Northwestern
    Nov. 17 Iowa
    Nov. 24 at Ohio State

once again they get away with not playing wisconsin (2011 big10 champ) and penn state. there's nothing to discuss about the 1st game because michigan isn't even close when it comes to talent to bama. mich st will be down next year and all the other teams are beatable. i honestly can see michigan walking in the shoe with one loss and potentially in talks for being in the BCS championship. i doubt it but there's a very slim chance. with that said no matter what anyone says nov. 24th is urban meyer's bowl game. michigan got in a shoot out with a team that had a true freshman qb, a banged up defense, an interim coach, and a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the program with the ncaa. 2012 will be a different beast. so michigan fans enjoy your win and enjoy your early success with recruiting but come nov. 24th 2012 the buckeyes will give ya a pinch to wake up from the dream you have been living in this since last year.

I've said the same to my Michigan buddies. Enjoy it now. We still haven't seen Brady Hoke's offense, things will be completely different in 2014 and beyond.

Virginia Tech is terrifically mediocre yet looked miles better than Michigan. You have to be a serious Michigan apologist to make the case that they weren't outplayed in that game.

Michigan fans must forever shut up about any so called lucky breaks Ohio State got to beat Miami in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl because Michigan basically $hi* the bed against VT and still managed to win. Here are some of the highlights of the of their keystone kops type performance:

    1) VT tailback Wilson loses 22 yards on 1st and goal to kill the TD and force a field goal.

    2) Michigan's only effective offensive play was the prayer jump ball. They completed 3 of these, i believe, with 2 going for lucky TDs.

    3) Denard Robinson had 2 jump ball interceptions overturned on replay on a single drive.

    4) The VT receiver caught that ball for a TD on 3rd down in overtime. No way is that an incompletion. Refs handed Michigan the win there.

They better hope Denard stays this year or they just prolong the drop off one year for when he does leave.

Denard will stay. I think we will see Michigan use both Denard and Gardner a lot next season.

We still beat Michigan next season, BANK THAT!
