I would feel bad for them too IF I felt like they gave a damn! Most of these players this year look like they have just been going through the motions. Plus, all of the bad decision that some of them have made still disgusts me. Not necessarily the “Tat 5”, rather the few AFTER all of that shit came out!

I will be screaming just as loud on Saturday as I do every year for this game but I do not feel for the players right now. It is due to their actions that we are in this situation anyway! I do blame Tress for his part too...

I work with a guy that hates Ohio State...He laughed in my face three years ago when I told him I thought Urb would be out next coach. I continued to say it over that time period and especially after Tress left, he continued to laugh. HE would tell me that There is no way Meyer would leave an SEC school for the Big Ten. He walked up to me today and said, “I can’t believe that Ohio State is going to going to come out this scandal in better shape than before it started.”

It just makes people sick that Ohio State is not going to have at least 5 or 6 down years. This guy also has the nerve to tell me that I shouldn’t get too excited about Urban. He says he will leave within five years. Oh by the way, this guy is a Kentucky fan and thinks John Calipari is Jesus! At least Urban didn’t leave his previous schools with sanctions!

In all fairness I couldn't predict how long Urban will be here. I'll just enjoy him for as long as he stays here.

the haters are nervous! i can't believe how many i have come across and they say that we still won't beat SEC teams. i laugh every time i hear it. i had a guy at work who's a buckeye fan but is not happy urban is coming. i broke it down this way. cooper was a great recruiter. one of the big reasons why tress won the national title his second year. but tress was a better coach. i honestly have to say i have followed urban meyer since his days at BGSU. i think he's a better coach then tress and a better recruiter then cooper. with those two factors we should win a lot of games and piss off a lot of the haters. i really feel this will be the start the playing field will even when it comes to the SEC.

Football: Meyer to take over at Ohio State
Deal isn’t finalized for Ohio native who won big at BG, Utah, Florida

By Tim May
The Columbus Dispatch
Thursday November 24, 2011 8:36 AM

Urban Meyer is expected to be named head football coach at Ohio State next week, multiple well-placed university sources told The Dispatch yesterday.

The sources said the only factors to be officially decided regarding the deal were length of contract, financial remuneration and when to make the announcement.

Once all parties agree on the terms, the announcement could come as soon as Monday, the sources said.

The 47-year-old Meyer, who won two national championships in six seasons at the University of Florida before spending this season as an analyst for ESPN, could not be reached for comment. But he continually has said he has not been formally offered the job by OSU, and he reiterated that yesterday in a statement released through the cable sports network.

“I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place,” the statement said. “I plan on spending Thanksgiving with my family and will not comment on this any further.”

The OSU sources also said that current head coach Luke Fickell, elevated on May 30 to replace the forced-out Jim Tressel, will be taken care of when or if Meyer accepts the job. In what capacity, the sources weren’t sure.

Bob Hunter commentary: Illusion of Meyer deal not enough to go by

By Bob Hunter
The Columbus Dispatch
Thursday November 24, 2011 5:42 AM

The game isn’t football, but semantics.

In one way or another, just about everybody says Urban Meyer is going to be the next Ohio State football coach — everybody, that is, except for university officials and Meyer himself.

So Meyer’s hiring isn’t official, which might mean nothing — or everything. It’s worth remembering there’s no deal until there’s a deal. The illusion of a deal isn’t enough.

Just reading that last paragraph might be enough to spoil Thanksgiving dinner for a lot of anxiety-riddled OSU fans. Those who want Meyer hired — and those who want current coach Luke Fickell retained — would like to be served a little clarity with their turkey. Instead, they will be forced to swallow another generous, unappetizing helping of muck.

Meyer’s hiring is being reported in various ways, in part because there’s no official word. Most of the information comes from sources who don’t want to be named because the university hasn’t announced anything and they want to keep their jobs. When that happens, the information usually comes from a person who knows one of the negotiators, or knows someone who is a friend of one of the negotiators. It’s secondhand ... and usually accurate.

And then there’s Meyer himself. ESPN.com had a story last Saturday that he had talked to Ohio State about the job and that there was mutual interest. He works as an analyst for ESPN, so he must have been OK with that. Yesterday, he released a statement apparently designed to slow the torrent of stories on the topic. It was like trying to stop an avalanche with a snow shovel.
