• Matchup to watch: The better Trey Burke plays for Michigan, the more people ask why Ohio State did not recruit the Northland High School point guard. The Buckeyes already had one, Aaron Craft, and another on the way in Shannon Scott, and thus no room. A mistake? Today, the three can answer the question among themselves.

• Notable: Ohio State has a 37-game home-court winning streak, second nationally to Kentucky’s 47. The last opponent to win at Value City Arena was then-No. 4 Purdue two years ago. … Michigan has lost five games in a row to Ohio State, seven straight at Value City Arena and is 2-14 against the Buckeyes during Thad Matta’s coaching tenure. … Michigan’s past three games (two victories) have been decided by five total points.
