Banged-up Wolverines look ahead to Buckeyes

Ann Arbor -- They put on the strongest possible faces and said the right things, and it was all they really could do. The Wolverines had just been crushed by Wisconsin in their home finale, and The Game is next, one more chance to do something special.

Is it a longshot? Oh yes, a huge longshot. But that's the direction Michigan was looking, fairly quickly after the 48-28 loss to Wisconsin.

"It's a challenge anyway, playing a great team at their place," coach Rich Rodriguez said. "It's Ohio State-Michigan, and it's not gonna be hard to get the guys fired up to play. But we may have a few more young guys that are gonna have to grow up in a hurry."

The Wolverines (7-4) have lost six straight to the Buckeyes (10-1) and coach Jim Tressel, and with their battered defense, this one will be as daunting as any. But sophomore Denard Robinson is a confident, dangerous quarterback, and he just set an NCAA single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,538, after getting 121 against the Badgers.

"It don't mean nothing to me," Robinson said of the loss. "I'm ready to play Ohio State and that's it. We got one more game and the bowl game to redeem ourselves."

This may be the worst Michigan defense of all time. I'll be disappointed if Pryor doesn't score 3+ touchdowns.

By the way, thanksgiving has really F'ed up this whole week...pep rally is tommorow and the mirror lake swim is on tuesday??? Stange michigan week for sure.

I am going to be in the Shoe on Saturday for my first OSU/Michigan game............I have my wife to thank for it.................I have always maintained I wanted to see at least on Michigan game in the shoe before I go...........scratch it off the bucket list.

Thats a great wife, and I really hope you take it all in. If time allows try to get to St. John's Arena for the skull session at 10am.
