Dexter Larimore out for Ohio State, offensive line hit with flu
By Doug Lesmerises
October 06, 2009, 2:57PM

Notes from Jim Tressel's news conference today:

* Defensive tackle Dexter Larimore is out with what Tressel called a knee sprain. Larimore was carted off during the Indiana game, and Tressel immediately afterward said it wasn't serious and then said today that Larimore would not need surgery. Larimore was looking forward to playing a power team like Wisconsin as opposed to chasing around spread teams. But I think the Buckeyes may be better able to handle a team like this without him. I'm guessing the Buckeyes might stay in more of their 4-3 look, instead of shifting to their 3-4, so between Doug Worthington, Cameron Heyward, Todd Denlinger, Rob Rose and John Simon, they should be able to rotate enough guys through the two tackle spots.

Wisconsin turns OSU score into a teaching tool

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Wisconsin is a wiser team, coach Bret Bielema believes, than the one that pulled defeat from the jaws of victory against Ohio State last year.

For one, safety Jay Valai hasn't missed any games for helmet-first hits, like those with which he separated Daniel Herron and Dane Sanzenbacher from their senses.

Two, Bielema thinks the Badgers know better now than to try to make a play on the fly rather than be sure of their assignments. Their ad lib last season cost them when a confused defense gave up Terrelle Pryor's winning, 11-yard touchdown run with 1:08 left. The Buckeyes won 20-17 to snap the Badgers' 16-game home winning streak.

Ohio State and Wisconsin, undefeated and tied for the Big Ten lead, meet again Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

"Everybody's got to touch that hot stove once. You've only got to get burnt once, and the only way to do it is to do it," Bielema said yesterday. "I think our players are a lot more aware."

Are any of the other four players with the flu of significance? I'm not saying if they don't get a lot of time they aren't significant to the team... but are they starters?

Yeah I've noticed that this year, it seems like everyone is getting alot more sick than they have been in past years. Not to mention its alot more widespread.

Weather has been funky lately so that could contribute.

I love all the experts doubting Ohio State................I do not understand how a team that basically dominated USC plays a team that almost lost at home to several lower tier schools and they pick the upset......

So then since everyone is picking the upset, when tOSU wins, they'll move way up in the polls,.......right?

Oh wait, never mind -- if tOSU wins it will only be b/c Wisconsin had everyone fooled and actually sucked.....my bad.
