Well the numbers are out and it lends some credit to what the USC guys were all gushing about. When we came out with a two back formation, we ran it 92% of the time. The one back formation we ran it 64% of the time. The shotgun formation we passed 67% of the time. There's not way you can get a solid run out of the I-formation when the opponent knows we're going to run the ball. Oye.

I didn't like the play calling in the 2nd half. Passing plays took too much time to develop. However the 1st half play calling was fine!

BRISTOL, Conn. -- The USC-Ohio State thriller is the most-viewed college football game ever on ESPN.
USC's 18-15 come-from-behind win Saturday night drew nearly 10.6 million total viewers, more than any regular-season or bowl game on the network. ESPN said Monday that the 7.3 rating was its highest for a college football game since Florida State-Miami 15 years ago.

Football
By the Numbers
By Jeff Amey
And just like that, we're back to square one. Ohio State fell to the USC Trojans 18-15 in front of an incredible record-breaking home crowd on Saturday night, but this game was much more than just a simple home loss to a good team. It has caused Ohio State fans across the nation to question the direction of the offense led by Jim Tressel and his offensive coaching staff. This was a game the Buckeyes should have won easily, in my opinion, yet they struggled to break 250 yards and managed only 15 points in a game where they took more than half their snaps on the opponent's side of the 50.
You'd better buckle your chin-strap for this one, it's going to be long. Before we get into all that, though, let's take a look at the stats. As bad as they are, they only tell part of the story for this game.
Run/Pass Breakdown
54 Total Plays--265 yards--4.9 ypp
24 pass (44%)--11/24 for 177 yards 1 INT
30 runs (56%) for 88 yards 1 TD--2.9 ypc
11 Offensive Possessions
Ave. of 4.9 plays--24.1 yards
Ave. Start--OSU 39
First Down--20 plays (37%) for 42 yards
6 pass (30%)--2/6 for 30 yards
14 runs for 12 yards--0.9 ypc
Ave. gain of 2.1 yards
