Like most games, this game will be determined by who wins the LOS............our offensive and defensive lines need to be much improved to get a win over USC...........
We have the playmakers on offense...........the big uglies need to get the job done........

Just out of curiosity....
Since Matt Barkley looks to be the starter at QB for USC this season, Does anyone know when the last time a true freshman started at QB as an opponent in the Shoe?
BTW, I do not know the answer to this question, so don't ask me.

Matt Barkley vs. Terrelle Pryor would give USC-Ohio State game a No. 1 QB matchup
by Doug Lesmerises, The Plain Dealer

AP
USC freshman Matt Barkley at practice Tuesday.
With the news that an injury to Aaron Corp has pushed true freshman Matt Barkley to the front of the USC quarterback race, we could be looking at a showdown of two top-ranked quarterback recruits when USC visits Ohio State on Sept. 12.
Barkley was the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the Class of 2009, while OSU's Terrelle Pryor was the No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2008. This would be the first matchup of top-rated QBs since ... well, since Pryor faced USC's Mark Sanchez, the No. 1 quarterback in 2005, last season. Pryor, though, didn't start that game.
But with USC, you are always dealing with quarterback hype. In fact, if Barkley falters and Corp remains out, the matchup could happen anyway, since USC's No. 3 quarterback in Arkansas transfer Mitch Mustain, the No. quarterback in the Class of 2006.
If Barkley does win the job, it shouldn't be a surprise. It used to be that even big-time QBs waited their turn. The top quarterbacks in the Classes of 2002, 2004 and 2005 (as ranked by Scout.com) all redshirted. Not anymore. The top quarterbacks in the Classes of 2006 (Mustain), 2007 (Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen) and 2008 (Pryor) all took over the starting jobs early in their true freshmen reasons.
Not that Ohio State and USC needs more hype, but Barkley coming into Ohio Stadium as the starter would add to things.

Here's what happened early in their careers to the last eight No. 1 quarterback recruits in the country.
2002 - Vince Young, Texas
As a freshman: Redshirted
Started first game: The seventh game of his redshirt freshman season in 2003.
2003 - John David Booty, USC
As a freshman: Became the No. 2 quarterback by middle of the year, then broke his left wrist
Started first game: After winning the job as a redshirt junior in 2006.
2004 - Rhett Bomar, Oklahoma
As a freshman: Redshirted
Started first game: Second game of the 2005 season as a redshirt freshman.
2005 - Mark Sanchez, USC
As a freshman: Redshirted
Started first game: In 2007 as a third-year sophomore, starting three times when John David Booty was injured.
2006 - Mitch Mustain, Arkansas
As a freshman: Went 8-0 as a starter but lost the starting job toward the end of the season to the more experienced Casey Dick. Mustain transferred to USC after the season.
Started first game: In the second game of his freshman season.
2007 - Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
As a freshman: Started nine games, completing 56 percent of his passes, with seven touchdowns and six interceptions.
Started first game: In the second game of his freshman season.
2008 - Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State
As a freshman: Named the Big Ten freshman of the year, completing 61 percent of his passes, with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Started first game: In the fourth game of his freshman season after splitting snaps against USC the week before.
2009 - Matt Barkley, USC
As a freshman: Fighting for the starting job, his chances improving after third-year sophomore Aaron Corp, previously No. 1 on the depth chart, was forced to the sidelines for three weeks with a crack in his fibula

Barkley the starting QB?! I love it. We need to blitz, blitz, blitz, and get our guys on him!

I agree. We need to shove many packages at Barkley and blitz him and put him on his back. This should help create turnovers which will keep our defense fresh and keep the ball in Pryor's hands.
