Quite being so predictable and start throwing the ball more. If we throw more screens and short passes, and stop running the ball up the middle with Beanie on every 1st down it will really help open up the run game for Beanie and Pryor.

I agree on not running every single time on 1st down. Why not pass more (down field) on first down and see what happens. If Pryor throws a pick so be it, at least we're being aggressive.
Also, I'd like to see some reverses for Lamaar Thomas. Use his speed!

i think LT should be used more like joe mcknight. put him all over the field in different formations to make his speed a threat at all times.

I agree. You have to create mismatches.

I actually disagree with using LT for reverses like that. The reason is it's really obvious. I remember watching us sub him in and line up and I turned to my girlfriend and said "dammit, watch their going with a reverse to Thomas." It was so blatantly obvious the way we lined up. That was the play where it got blown up, but he was face masked so we got a nice first down out of it anyways.
Now at this point with actually using him on the field for more than just gimmick plays it could work, but at that point it was a stupid call.
Play calling does suck, but it's not the pass/run ratio that is the issue. It's just which passes and runs. Anyone here know what the first down pass/run ratio was at Penn St? It will surprise you.
