I think it was a mix of both.

We didn't spread out the field enough early in the game, you notice when we started to go with 5 receiver sets, and when we started to throw the ball a bit deeper we really started to execute.

Our play calling was WAY too predictable too, I've never played football officially and I could call out what we were doing if I was blind, just by the looks of the formations.

both. but i also thought there was a problem with our motivation. Third down conversion after third down conversion by OU...i felt like i was watching last year's illinois game. Dan Herron proved today why he is already better than Mo Wells, and I think Ray Small needed that return or else i would have very mixed feelings about him. the first 2 punts that he cought and got tackled right away...he deffinitely should have called for a fair catch- he could have cost us the football twice. i think the key play in this game was Shawn Lane's save when the ball was punted and the OU returner bobbled it and Lane saved it and got possession before it rolled out of bounds. That play, along with our 4 interceptions, and Ray small's punt return for a TD were great motivating factors which we couldn't have gone without. I was also very pleased with Terrelle's playing, especially on his 24 yard run. Boeckman needs to stay focused, and he needs a player like Beanie to compliment him on offense. Overall, I was worried at first but i think our team will be fired up for next week and ready to go with the future heisman trophy winner on the field.

even though this was a piss poor performance today, i was impressed with our D. you could tell they were getting tired because our offense left them out to dry all day, but they hung in there and stayed strong. and if we cant get fired up to play next week, we dont deserve to win. there was no intensity today, but i think we needed this game to get it out of our systems. plus having beanie back will build up everyone's confidence.
