The junior class, led by 6-9, 270-pound forward Jared Sullinger of Northland, is stellar. Sullinger, who committed to Ohio State as a freshman, is rated as either the No. 1 or No. 2 overall junior in the nation by virtually every recruiting service.
"Out of the all great ones that have come out of the central Ohio -- Michael Redd, Kenny Gregory, Samaki Walker and Eddie Jenkins immediately come to mind -- nobody has been a consensus No. 1 in his class nationally since Estaban Weaver was when he was a freshman (during the 1993-94 season)," Watson said.
"No one who follows the game will argue about Jared being the real deal. Nobody can guard him around the basket because he can do so many things. Plus, he's done it all. He's dominated on the summer (AAU) circuit. He's led his team to a national championship. He's led his high school team to an incredible record (45-2).

Sullinger, Northland win contest of big men
Sunday, January 11, 2009 3:20 AM
By Steve Blackledge
The Columbus Dispatch
The main reason Northland was pitted against Cincinnati Aiken in the featured game of the Ohio Scholastic Play-By-Play Classic last night was to match up Ohio State-bound junior Jared Sullinger against University of Cincinnati recruit Chane Behanan.
The matchup of big men turned out to be a mismatch.
Sullinger's 23 points and 12 rebounds powered Northland to a 71-45 rout over Aiken and Behanan, who managed just three points while saddled with foul trouble.
On Saturday in Kettering, Sullinger will face Jeremy Tyler of San Diego in another staged matchup pitting the top two rated juniors in the country.
"It's a challenge because Chane is the top-rated player in Ohio in his (sophomore) class and Jeremy and I are listed as the two best in the nation," Sullinger said. "I don't feel like I really have that much to prove, but in these sort of events, you know you have to bring your 'A' game."

any clarification on how tall he is? I've read 6'7 and 6'9 so far.
Does he fair better as a C or a PF? I would think PF, but I don't know.

Tourney schedule: How to go

DAYTON — Imagine LeBron James and Kobe Bryant or Greg Oden and Kevin Durant coming to town.
The presence of those NBA stars would surely cause a frenzy.
That's what it's going to be like when two of the nation's top high school juniors — Jared Sullinger and Jeremy Tyler — collide in the Flyin' to the Hoop tournament at Kettering's James S. Trent Arena.
Sullinger, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound power forward and top-ranked player in the ESPNU Super 60 Class of 2010, has committed to Ohio State. Tyler, a 6-9, 240-pound center and ESPNU's No. 7-ranked junior, has pledged his allegiance to Louisville.
Sullinger will lead the Columbus Northland Vikings against Tyler's San Diego (Calif.) Cavers on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 p.m. — the marquee matchup on Flyin's six-game, opening-day lineup.
